Body Shape Guide

As an apple shaped plus woman, I’ve struggled my entire life finding clothes that flatter my body shape. While many other people can throw on jeans and a cute tee, I was never that person. Finding jeans that fit my stomach but were not too baggy in the legs was nearly impossible. I believe that no matter what size or shape you should wear whatever you want, however, I do know the importance and need to help people shop specifically for their body shape. That is why I have designed and created a special way to shop on my website. Each item I purchase, I will label what shape that it would flatter/look good on. I understand that every shape is so different, even within each category and not all items may flatter body shapes that I recommend.

Body Type Definitions

Apple

If your shoulders and bust are larger than your relatively narrow hips, you have what’s known as an  “apple” shape.  Apple shapes also tend to have an undefined waist, round shoulders, a smaller hip, and slimmer legs and arms. They also tend to put on weight in the upper body first.

Pear

If you have large hips and a modest or small bust, you have a pear body
shape. With this shape, your shoulders and bust are narrower than your hips and your arms are probably slim. In addition, your waist tends to slope out towards your hips.

Triangle

With this shape, you have broad shoulders, small hips, and slender legs. Also, you probably don't have a well-defined waist.

Rectangle

With a rectangle shape, your waist measurements are about the same as your hip or bust. Also, your shoulders and hips are about the same width.

Hour Glass

With an hourglass shape, your hips and bust are nearly equal in size and you have a well-defined waist that’s narrower than both.  With this shape, your buttocks and bust line are well-balanced, and your waist is also well defined.
